UIL - Changes of interest to Sports Officials
Section 1204(m): FLAT FEE SCHEDULE AND TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT:
The UIL Sports Officials Committee has developed and approved a ten year plan to increase game and
flat-rate travel fees for all sports. For baseball, the plan provides increases of:
2023 $5.00 increase in travel fees
2024 $10.00 increase in game fees
2027 $5.00 increase in game fees
2030 $5.00 increase in game fees and $2.00 increase in travel fees

Section 1204(m): FLAT FEE SCHEDULE AND TRAVEL REIMBURSEMENT:
In recognition of the shortage of officials, and thus the need to assign a single official to some games,
the UIL-SOC developed and approved a new pay category of SINGLE UMPIRE for regular season games beginning in the 2022-23 school year. For those games for which only a single official is assigned, the official will receive 150% of the game fee for that level of game. (e.g.: if the game fee is $60 per official, a single official would receive $90 instead of just $60).

Section 1204(l): FEE APPROVAL/PAYMENT:
This amendment from the UIL Sports Officials Committee (SOC) changes the time period to pay officials from 45 days to 30 days.
Section 1220: BASEBALL PLAN:
This amendment prohibits playoff games from being scheduled before Thursday unless by mutual consent of the two schools in the contest.
